Beaten by Ducati in MotoGP Thailand 2022, Quartararo has the advantage at this corner

Fabio Quartararo is ready to face the 2022 Thailand MotoGP with high optimism. Although the Buriram Circuit has a straight track along the 1 km which is a soft food for Ducati motorcycles, Quartararo with the Yamaha YZR-M1 has the advantage in a number of corners.

After organizing 16 series of races, MotoGP this season only leaves the Thai MotoGP series (October 2), MotoGP Australia (16 October), and MotoGP Malaysia (October 23) and MotoGP Valencia (November 6).

Of the four series, there is still a maximum of 100 points that can be collected by drivers. With a fairly small difference in points between the number one rider and the number three rider, there is still a chance for the three to win the 2022 MotoGP world title.

For the record, currently Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Fabio Quartararo, is in first place with 219 points, followed by Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia, in second place with 201 points, and Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia in third place with 194 points.

In Thailand, Quartararo will start the race from fourth position. The French rider was ‘beaten up’ by the Ducati riders. In front of him were Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia. While behind him are Johann Zarco, Enea Bastianini, and Jack Miller. All of them are Ducati riders.

According to the Buriram Circuit track currently has a fairly high grip, but that does not guarantee an advantage for the riders. “The grip is very high, I think we did some good laps, but I don’t know if it’s better or worse than 2019. Our bike definitely goes faster on the straights, but the grip is completely different from three years ago, ” he said quoted from GPOne.

He was also not afraid of the Ducati riders who dominated the front row. Although the Desmosedici has superiority on the straights, Quartararo is able to compete with the M1’s advantage which can go fast in corners. In some slow and fast corners, Quartararo can overtake other riders.

“I feel comfortable at Turns 9 and 10, at Turn 10 I can carry a lot of speed,” continued the rider nicknamed El Diablo. Despite having high optimism, Quartararo still tries to be rational, so he targets to finish in fourth position.
