Official! Quartararo at Yamaha Until 2024


Fabio Quartararo officially stays at Yamaha. He signed a new two-year contract ending speculation over his future in recent months.

Quartararo’s future at Yamaha was speculated. The reason, he had expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of his YZR-M1.

The complaint is related to the power of the motor which is still inferior to the mounts of its rivals. The spotlight on the YZR-M1’s power has emerged in recent seasons, even though Quartararo was able to emerge as world champion last year.

In the end, after long negotiations with Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo decided to stay. He signed a new two-year contract.

“I am very happy to be able to announce to all of you that I will stay with Yamaha for another two years. In the past, moving up to the Yamaha class and then joining the factory team was an easy decision,” Quartararo was quoted as saying by MotoGP.

“Yamaha believed in me from the start and that’s something I don’t take lightly. However, this deal is a big decision. I’m at an important point in my career, so I need more time to believe in this decision,” he added.

Quartararo has started quite well this season, leading the standings with 122 points, eight ahead of Aleix Espargaro in second place. He collected one win and was runner-up three times.
