The difference between IDR 1 million and Xmax, the Aprilia SR-GT is not for the faint-hearted


Aprilia kicked off the scooter market by presenting an adventure sport scooter, Aprilia SR-GT 200 to the country. With a price of Rp. 60 million which is slightly different from the 250 cc Yamaha Xmax scooter, the Aprilia SR-GT is definitely not for the faint-hearted. This is the reason.

For information, the Aprilia SR-GT is still completely imported from Vietnam. This motorbike is offered in two variants and prices, the standard model is priced at Rp. 60,000,000 and the sport model is priced at Rp. 61,500,000.

The price of the highest variant of the Aprilia SR-GT is only Rp. 1,040,000 from the Yamaha Xmax which is priced at Rp. 62,540,000. With such a small price difference, Xmax definitely feels more worth to buy because this scooter carries a more powerful 250 cc engine.

Moreover, Xmax has been assembled locally at the PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) factory which of course will make the price of Xmax spare parts more affordable, and their availability more guaranteed.

In terms of features, Xmax is equipped with a keyless lock system, an adjustable windshield, then there is also a traction control feature, and a jumbo luggage capacity which is claimed to be able to accommodate two XL size full face helmets.

Then if we look at the Aprilia SR-GT, with a price tag of Rp. 60 million, this motorbike carries a 174 cc engine, the i-get, which offers 13 kW at 8,500 rpm and 16.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This scooter is also equipped with modern features, such as a full digital instrument panel, idling stop system, and full LED lights.

Unfortunately, the Aprilia SR-GT is not yet equipped with a keyless lock system. Even so, there is already an immobilizer feature that can prevent potential theft. Then in this scooter the windshield uses a fixed model, so the height level cannot be adjusted.

Another drawback in this scooter is the lack of a storage compartment at the front, besides the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) braking system on the Aprilia SR-GT still adheres to the one-channel model, namely on the front wheels only.

But again, the Aprilia SR-GT 200 is not a motorcycle for the ‘good-for-nothing’ people. Despite its limitations, this scooter remains an attractive choice in the midst of consumer boredom towards scooters made in Japan.
