The owner of WithU Yamaha RNF, Razlan Razali, is optimistic that his team can become the best independent team in the 2022 MotoGP despite being reinforced by a badass racer, Darryn Binder. This is the reason.
Razlan Razali is back in MotoGP with Yamaha. If in the past the Malaysian figure commanded the Petronas Yamaha SRT, this time Razali chose to establish his own team, RNF Racing, sponsored by the Italian energy company, WithU.
WithU Yamaha RNF will combine the talents of experienced racers with junior racers. The first rider to be selected was Andrea Dovizioso, who has worked with the satellite Yamaha Tech3 team and the factory Repsol Honda and Ducati MotoGP teams.
The Italian rider has even competed in the last 5 MotoGP series in 2021 to replace Franco Morbidelli who was promoted to the Yamaha factory team.
Accompanying The Little Dragon, WithU Yamaha RNF chose Darryn Binder, who previously competed in Moto3. The decision became controversial, because the driver, who is the younger brother of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing racer, Brad Binder, is known to be a badass.
Darryn Binder who defended Petronas Sprinta Racing Moto3 raced recklessly at the MotoGP Portugal 2021. The 24-year-old racer’s wild maneuvers also made Dennis Foggia fall, as well as eliminating Foggia’s hopes to compete for the 2021 Moto3 title.
Razali doesn’t want to bother with people’s negative views of Darryn Binder. According to Razali, Darryn still has a positive side which will later be very useful to support the team’s progress.

“For the 2022 season we aspire to be the best of the independent teams. We want to fight for the ‘Rookie of the Year’, even though we know that it is a big challenge,” Razali was quoted as saying. Motosan.
“Darryn is the only one who has made the jump from Moto3 to MotoGP. Andrea has a lot to prove when he returns after more than six months of furlough. He really wants to make sure, not only for himself, that he still has the motivation, the experience, drive, and the ability to fight for the World Championships. I really believe in this.”
Regarding Darryn Binder, Razali will leave it entirely to team manager Wilco Zeelenberg. Razali himself considered that Binder could be a potential rider because he has a good physique.
“It is up to Zeelenberg to give him the right instructions. We don’t want to rush things. Of course, we know that (choosing Darryn) it is a big risk for us. What is important is progress,” he said.
“In my opinion, the Dovizioso-Binder duo is very balanced. And the team has the experience of the last few years,” he said.
