Wahyu Nugroho’s profile, the Boyolali racer who won in Europe


Wahyu Nugroho’s name has become a topic of conversation for motorcycle racing lovers in Indonesia. This young man from Boyolali, Central Java, because the man won the 3rd podium in the international bLU cRU European Cup 2022 racing event at the Czech Autodrom Most Circuit, on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Wahyu Nugroho was born on January 14, 2003. Wahyu’s journey in world-class motorcycle racing has been practiced for a long time. He is also noted to have participated in many racing classes as well as having achievements from 2017 to 2019 on the national stage.

In 2017, during the Yamaha Cup Race, Wahyu managed to win starting from, 1st place YCR5 (150 cc Moped) series 1 Kebumen, 2nd place YCR6 (Moped 125 cc) series 1 Kebumen, 1st place YCR5 (Moped 150 cc) series 2 Kediri, 1st place YCR5 (150 cc Moped) 3 Solo series, 2nd place YCR6 (125 cc Moped) 3 Solo series, 1st place in YCR5 standings (150 cc Moped), and 2nd place in YCR6 standings (125 cc Moped).

Meanwhile, in 2018, Wahyu participated in 2 events namely Motoprix and Yamaha Sunday Race which managed to get many achievements in the 150 cc motorcycle category and in the Asia Road Racing Championship event in 2019, Wahyu won 3rd place in ARRC Round 3 at Buriram International Circuit, Thailand.

In addition, this Yamaha Indonesia-assisted racer also participated in the ARRC 2020 event and entered the Asia Production 250 cc (AP250).

“Wahyu Nugroho has the potential to be in the ranks of the top riders in his first season competing in this world race. He believes that considering that when he was a rookie in the Asia Production 250 (AP250) Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2020, he appeared competitive using the YZF-R25 with the results of the inaugural series finishing 4th race 1 and 2 at the Sepang circuit,” wrote Yamaha Indonesia in an official statement.

Of course, the comparison of racing competitions in Europe with Asia is very different. Wahyu must quickly adapt to be able to show his best performance. However, for Wahyu Nugroho, there is no surrender before the finish flag is raised. His motto is, keep fighting until you go all out in every game.

Wahyu even had the time to score the fastest time in sector 1 of the Czech Autodrom Most track which has a length of 4.2 km, as well as showing that the Yamaha Racing Indonesia bLU cRU team racer has progressed and improved significantly.
