Yamaha refreshes the look of its flagship super motorcycle, the Yamaha MX King 150. Now, the MX King 150 gets the latest livery in the style of Yamaha’s historic racing motorbike.
This 2021, Yamaha celebrates 60 years of involvement in world Grand Prix motorcycle racing. To celebrate this moment, PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) launched the MX King with a livery in the style of a Yamaha GP racing motorbike 6 decades ago.
The livery with shades of white, red and yellow was inspired by the red and white design on the YZR500 (0W48) used by Kenny Roberts at the 1980 Grand Prix in the 500cc class. Starting from Yamaha’s first victory at the world Grand Prix in 1963, until the 2020 season, a total of 511 victories have been collected by the manufacturer bearing the tuning fork logo.
Prior to the MX King 150, Yamaha had unveiled the YZR-M1 Yamaha World Grand Prix 60th Anniversary Livery during the second MotoGP pre-season test in Qatar. The same livery is also used on the Yamaha MX King 150 motorcycle in Indonesia.
